It sits in the landscape, noted but not yet described in any accessible way, which gives it an unusual quality among the many thousands of archaeological sites across Ireland. Most recorded monuments come with at least a skeletal account of what survives, what type of structure it might be, and when it was likely in use. Cankilly, at present, offers none of that.
