The site consists of a rectangular enclosure measuring approximately 46 metres from northeast to southwest and 42 metres from northwest to southeast. What survives today are the weathered remnants of an earthen bank that once defined this fortified space, now incorporated into improved pasture land where livestock graze amongst history.

The defensive bank, originally about 9 metres wide overall and 2 metres across at its top, is best preserved along the northwest end of the southwest side and the northeast side, where it still stands at roughly 45 centimetres high on the interior and 20 centimetres on the exterior. The northwest side can still be traced for its full 46-metre length, though time and agricultural activity have taken their toll. The southeast and remainder of the southwest sides have been largely levelled out, with the southeast boundary spread across a broad area some 8 to 10 metres wide.

Historical mapping provides valuable context for understanding the site’s more recent past; the 1906 Ordnance Survey six-inch map depicts the southeast and southwest sides as linear field boundaries, showing how the medieval defensive structure was repurposed for agricultural use. The interior of the enclosure slopes gently towards the south-southwest, following the natural topography of the hillside. Today, this once-fortified site continues its agricultural role as pasture land, with centuries of farming activity gradually softening but not entirely erasing the medieval earthworks.
