Still serving its local community as an active burial ground, the site contains the ruins of a medieval church alongside several intriguing early Christian monuments. The old church itself, already recorded as being in ruins by 1622, now consists primarily of a 4.5 metre high section of ivy-clad south wall and the lower courses of the north wall, with the structure originally measuring 17.5 by 6.5 metres internally.

The graveyard underwent significant reorganisation around 1968, when a curious grassy rectangular mound positioned perpendicular to the church’s south wall was transformed into something rather special: a stone cairn with a flat, paved top that now serves as a display platform for numerous historic graveslabs. This collection includes six upright stones bearing cruciform designs, one depicting a human figure, and three plain examples, whilst five additional cross slabs lie unfixed atop the cairn. Three more recumbent cross slabs have been built into the cairn itself, along with twelve other graveslabs ranging from plain, uninscribed stones; some trapezoidal in shape; to one late Victorian example.

Adding to the site’s spiritual significance is a holy well, recorded in local tradition and still visible within the graveyard bounds. The combination of these elements; the ancient church ruins, the carefully curated collection of early Christian stone monuments, and the holy well; creates a layered landscape where over a millennium of devotion, burial, and remembrance converge in one quietly powerful location.
