A low circular platform, measuring about 6.8 metres east to west and 5.5 metres north to south, rises to just 0.65 metres at its eastern edge. The modest dimensions and rounded form suggest it may be the foundation of an early medieval house, the kind of structure that once made a ringfort a home rather than merely a boundary.

Ringforts, sometimes called raths, were the most common form of rural settlement in early medieval Ireland, typically consisting of a circular earthen bank enclosing a domestic space where a family would have lived, kept animals, and stored goods. This particular platform sits in the northern half of the ringfort's interior, a few metres southeast of the entrance to a souterrain, an underground stone-lined passage or chamber that served variously for storage, refuge, or both. The proximity of the platform to that souterrain entrance is suggestive. In early medieval farmsteads, the house and the souterrain were often closely related features, the underground space accessible from or near the main dwelling. Whether that relationship holds here is uncertain, but the spatial logic is consistent with the pattern found elsewhere across the country.

The platform is partly obscured by overgrowth, which means its full extent and any structural detail that might confirm its function as a house foundation are difficult to assess from the surface alone. What remains visible is enough to read the outline, a quiet circular presence within a quiet enclosure, both of them slowly returning to the landscape around them.
