Measuring approximately 2.3 metres east to west and 1.75 metres north to south, this enigmatic ruin consists of the remains of a drystone wall that has weathered countless seasons. Its eastern side features a single large upright slab standing 76 centimetres high and stretching 1.26 metres in length, whilst the northern edge is marked by three stones. The western and southern walls are barely discernible; two boulders set on edge hint at where the western wall once stood, and only a scattering of small stones suggests the southern boundary.

The structure’s current state makes it difficult to determine its original purpose. An upright boulder sits just outside the northeastern corner, whilst another boulder marks the spot beyond the southwestern angle. The interior and edges are littered with stones of various sizes, most likely debris that has tumbled from the cliff face above over the years. Despite careful examination, no evidence of a doorway or hearth has been found, leaving archaeologists unable to definitively identify what this structure once was.

This intriguing site was documented by Patrick F. O’Donovan and uploaded to archaeological records on 28 June 2012. Whether it served as a shelter for shepherds, a storage structure, or held some other function entirely remains a mystery. The harsh mountain environment and the passage of time have left us with more questions than answers about this lonely ruin beneath the cliff.
