Churches & Chapels
In the quiet townland of Drumline, in County Clare, there is a church old enough to have earned a place in the formal record of Irish monuments, yet so little documented in publicly available sources that almost nothing concrete can be said about it with confidence.
That combination, acknowledged existence alongside near-total obscurity, is its own kind of curiosity. Clare is a county dense with early ecclesiastical remains, from the well-studied Romanesque carvings of Killaloe to the austere ruins scattered across the Burren, and it is reasonable to place Drumline somewhere within that tradition of early Christian or medieval foundation. But the specifics remain, for now, out of reach.
